Subject: Processing Speed
I run S@H on numerious computers running different OS's. The times for each
system
are as follows:
WinME @ 750MHz Athlon - Avg. 65 MFlops (10 Hours)
WinME @ 733MHz PIII - Avg. 45 MFlops (13 Hours)
Linux @ 433MHz Celeron - Avg. 25 MFlops (24 Hours)
Times are approximate based on ksetiwatch output which tracks all WU on all
machines.
Because each packet can very depending on the amount of work to be done, I
tried to
average out the times using the setilog results. I have seen times much
higher and
lower than these numbers.
I also use a program called SetiDriver http://www.wakeassoc.com/setidriver/
on my
windows machines that allows me to cache WU's and to apply more processing
horsepower
to each packet. That helps to speed things up on the windows boxes.
