In my case they were all created from within the Plone interface using
Plone 2.0.0final. Both the "good" folders that are properly marked as
ATFolders and the "bad" folders (that are still marked as Plone Folders)
were created the same way over about a year's worth of time.

Hm, are you guys absolutely positive that those folders where
PloneFolders in the first place, and not, say, plain Zope Folders
created in the ZMI?

Hi All,
For what it's worth I seem to be having the exact same problem but
this procedure did not seem to fix it.

I'm having a problem with the migration of a fairly plain Plone 2.05
site to 2.1.1.
I did the normal migration which went fine. Then I noticed that some
of the folders in the site are in accessible. It seems that their
type is Portal Folder (as shown in the ZMI) instead of ATFolder. I's
a mystery to me why some folders are OK and some are not. AFAICT
they were all created in the same way (TTW) but not at the same time.
