Greetings ploners !
I am attempting to setup a plone site on a Gentoo running v.2.6.12,
The 'emergeing' all the relevant packages gives:
Zope:
Plone relevant packages:
archetypes-1.2.5_rc5 formulator-1.6.2
btreefolder2-1.0.1 groupuserfolder-2.0.1
cmf-1.4.7 placelesstranslationservice-fork-1.0_rc7
cmfactionicons-0.9 plone-2.0.4
cmfformcontroller-1.0.3 ploneerrorreporting-0.11
cmfquickinstallertool-1.5.0 plonetranslations-0.5
epoz-0.8.4 portaltransforms-1.0.4
externaleditor-0.8
Are installed.
When I try to Add a plone site it installs but with an error - I also
get this in the zope view tab:
Hello,
This combination of packages looks bad. Archetypes 1.2.5 comes from
an old version of Plone, 2.0, which I do not believe is compatible with
Zope 2.8.
The best way to ensure you never have invalid combinations or
dependency problems, is to build from source yourself, which may seem
intimidating but is not too bad, and is described here:
http://plone.org/documentation/how-to/setup-from-source
I suggest you take the latest Zope 2.8.x, and the latest Plone which is
2.1.2 .
Hope that helps,
Nick
