You have a bad registry entry - I bet. IF you post your postinstall.log - I will be able to see the traceback.
Whoever wrote the code in MimetypesRegitry.py that inspects windows registry mimetypes made lots of assumptions and never worked on a 'dirty' windows box. We are tracking this issues down - one at a time. Please paste your postinstall.log - the entire thing to paste.plone.org. Or upload it somewhere.
