XP x64 isn't really supported or tested for Plone, AFAIK — if you want to do 64 bit on Windows, you're better off with Vista, unfortunately. XPx64 was a stepping stone that never got much support, neither from driver makers nor Microsoft.

I don't think WinXP x64 works 100% of the time with Zope Server. As a few MS

Am I the only person running Plone on WinXP Pro x64? I have had the same
intermittent

problem for many months and it remains with the last install of Plone 3.0
just a few days ago.

Before the last fresh install I did have Plone running reliably I could even
start and stop it from Plone controller which was the first time ever. It
got better with each Win live update (patch) until it was fully stable. Then when Plone had been re installed it went back to not working some times. I
have now been a day without it starting (\\localhost\ is a blank page and
ZMI is unable to connect to host). There are so many restarts before I give
up.

Key features:
If Zope starts and you keep a connection then it never fails for the whole
session
There appears to be a critical window after start up when Zope will run. But
if it fails it will never come back.
Hard to say when too early is but after 10 minutes (may be less) it will
fail if you haven't already tried and made a connection to Zope.
If I hadn't experienced this and made my own notes over many months I
wouldn't believe it either. Just a shame I can't run my CAD on Mac or Linux
:( and that I treated my 64 bit CPU to a 64 bit OS.

BTW Plone 3.0 rocks (when I have it running) thanks for a great product.
