Hi.

I have a test environment with plone, apache and postgres instead of ZODB,
all in the same server and all work fine, But in the production enviroment
with two servers (the first server with plone and apache, the server second
with postgres instead of ZODB ) fails from time to time, for a few minutes.

We find that when it fails, PostgreSQL maintains a connection and keeps a
long time as "in transaction" and after about 10 minutes this connection
automatically terminates. this causes plone fail,at least 10 minutes

The solution restart plone or kill the process as follows

postgres 23267 0.0 0.1 2172016 7768 ? S 10:17 0:00 postgres:
ploneadmin plonetesting 10.9.33.116(45189) idle in transaction
kill -15 23267

Our servers are redhat with postgresql-8.1.18 and plone 3.3.5

Someone else has suffered the same thing? any recommendations to prevent
restart plone or kill the postgres process?

thanks in advance.
