I have the following situation: I've been employed to help redesign a website that's powered by Plone, but they just told me to upgrade to the newest version of Plone. The one they're using now is 2.0.5, I believe. They are located in MN, I am located in PA. I've told a few times now that I can neither back up the website nor upgrade Plone from a distance (aside from remote desktop options). I'm mostly a design guy, so I'm struggling a little with this, and my employers don't understand why I can't upgrade (and frankly, neither do I). They seem to think there's some magic button I can press that will just upgrade everything so we continue on to the redesign phase.
Mostly what I want to know is can I really not back up or upgrade without having access to their local machines? I am able to log into their site through Plone and see all their files via Zope, etc. I don't have a lot of background in these things, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Mostly I just want to be able to tell them "yes" or "no" as to whether I can do what they want. Thank you! -Jon SP -- View this message in context: http://plone.293351.n2.nabble.com/upgrading-Plone-pre-2-5-to-current-tp5257395p5257395.html Sent from the Installation, Setup, Upgrades mailing list archive at Nabble.com. _______________________________________________ Setup mailing list [email protected] http://lists.plone.org/mailman/listinfo/setup
