I full stack trace would be rather useful. My guess is that you forgot to run the portal migration - go to the ZMI, click on portal_migrations, upgrade tab - you can do a dry run to see what it looks like but then it has to be done for real. If that's not the problem, post the full trace and I'll take a look at it.
