It's so funny. The "Grunge" era (Pearl Jam in this case) is just like disco.
It's was so "cool" to hate disco in the early and mid-eighties. Now it's
"cool" to hate (or be ashamed of liking...) grunge. I mentioned this before
to the list, but I highly recommend renting (and listening to the soundtrack
of...) the documentary "HYPE!" by Doug Pray. It's a fantastic movie that
chronicles the whole Seattle rock explosion circa 1991. There was some great
music that came out of that time. Most with a lot of integrity. Some just
riding coat-tails.
Just an observation.
Despite being on my deathbed with this sore-throat thing goin' around... I am
jazzed cuz FUGAZI is in town tonight. I am gonna try and take photos and will
upload for those interested.
