Ohhh.. That's very unexpected then. As I mentioned in my last message, we changed the the whole configuration engine last week actually since we were experiencing strange behavior such as this one.
If you want to keep working one the stable 0.9.8, I would suggest to renew the configuration file (~/.config/sflphone/sflphonedrc) by removing it, launching sflphone again and reentering account information. A full GDB backtrace may help to get insight about the problem if you are willing to help.
