Thank you for pointing that out. You have a control in the UI under 
Preferences->Address Book that let you limit the number of contacts to import. 
However, looking into the code, I realized that there was an hard-coded value 
of "500".

I created a ticket at 
https://projects.savoirfairelinux.com/issues/show/4827
for this issue. You can subscribe to it if you want to be notified of any 
progress made towards a fix to that bug.

I'm a google apps user, but have synched my contacts to Evolution thus making 
them available to SFLPhone. It seems that the upper limit is 500 contacts. I
