Hi list, I really like the functionality of SFLPhone -- however I'm unable to use it so far: When taking calls, SFLPhone does neither play back anything (curiously though the ringing itself works) nor does it record.
However, recording with audacity works perfectly and playback with audacity/mplayer/audacious/firefox/you name it also works perfectly. I noticed that audacity provides much more sophisiticated method of chossing the sink/source for the audio. This is not possible in SFLPhone and might possibly be the reason for my problems. In Audacity, for each recording card, I also see devices and under devices even subdevices (don't know what the correct term for these is, but I see them in audacity): http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=xauvbm&s=5 e.g. in my setup: Card 0 = ALC888 Device 0,0 = ALC888 Analog Device 0,1 = ALC888 Digital Subdevices on 0,0: ALC888 Analog Rear Mic ALC888 Analog Front Mic ALC888 Analog Line Now I happen to use digital output (S/PDIF) and analog input over the rear microphone. SFLPhone lets me only configure the CARD (i.e. ALC888) for each device. Therefore playback does not work (curiously again for the ringtone it DOES). Recording seems not to be done on the rear mike, therefore this doesn't work either (I hear nothing on either side). Is there any way to be able to specifically select ALSA devices instead of this shotgun-approach? Any scenario with a user-defined ALSA configuration will cause problems if just the card is selectable.
