Hello Aaron, The PAE thingy is no more than multicore facility. If you don't have a multicore processor, it simply defaults to single core. Unless there is some other aspect involved, this should not stop you from upgrading. So stuck with 12.04. Have tried using SFLhpone and it worked at first but just now haveing weird problem with connecting headset to computer headset port & mic port. Seems incoming ring occurs for 1/2 second and then silence. It had worked for computer only. So tinkering a little realized their was upgrade to 1.2 for ubuntu. tried downloading and installing but it failed for my Lubuntu. So request is to make available the latest stable release for Lubuntu. I like using Lubuntu Software Center to install software. It's easy. But its not latest stable release. Please updte that for me. And if you have any understanding of this sound issue with ALSA and headphone jack please point me in right direction. I have no experience with lubuntu and have to admit that I have never actually heard of it, but if anything is implied by a name, it's a Ubuntu derivative, which is a Debian derivative. These things can get unnecessarily complex sometimes. Upgrading in any of these environments is not hard and is generally no more than a different interface over the top of Debian's 'apt' package. A little basic orientation and you will be as much at home upgrading in any one of them as you are now and it may well be a worthwhile exercise for you. Just as a suggestion, it might be best to get these complications out of the way and simply install another system, even Debian itself, preserving your /home partition in the process so that you lose no data. Hopefully you created a separate /home during install to facilitate this sort of thing? I run Debian SID and I can assure you that, even though it is the distribution that is still in development, it is far more stable, secure and speedy than the most stable Windows operating system. I won't even mention 'secure' and 'speedy' with Windows. That's if the SFLPhone devs don't have an easier answer for you. Kind regards, David Crosswell.
