I looked at the build related parts of your code review and they look 
fine.  I haven't looked at the actual patches.  I'm guessing that you 
have used the underlaying functionality.  Have you tried to submit them 
upstream?  It appears that
zsh includes a number directories for OS or technology specific add-ons.
