When we tested the X builds with Studio 12, we found we had to regenerate
configure scripts in a number of packages, since scripts built by older
versions of GNU autoconf & crew treated the new "-xarch=generic64 is
deprecated, use -m64 instead" warning as a sign that the compiler options
were invalid. I wouldn't be surprised if at least some of the packages
in SFW have been built with the same Studio-12-incompatible autotools
versions.
