I would like to install the sfwnv to use the updated code as compared with the
Sun supplied sfw from 6/06, but am unsure what is the best approach.

I started with a clean install of solaris 5.10 6/06 release on an ultra 20 and
then live upgraded to nv_48 (solaris express) after a particular patch
repeatedly made the system unbootable. I recently live upgraded to nv_50
(solaris express 11/06). I have blastwave packages installed on the system, as
well as the companion software from sun 6/06 version.

Do I need to somehow remove the companion software and the sfw packages that
are included in sfwnv before building sfwnv? If so, what is the best approach
to accomplish this?

Should the sfw software be upgraded each time along with the live upgrade, or
does it not really matter?

thanks,
