Just wanted to point out that many of these packages that we are
porting are moving much faster than we can port. The first package I
ported swig ver 1.3.35 was outdated by the time I could integrate. I
integrated ver 1.3.35 because thats what I had been authorized to do,
but swig had already released 1.3.36. They are already asking me to
move on updating this. I asked how long it would be before they
release the next and it is about 1 - 2 months out. If I start now to
integrate 1.3.36 it will be old by the time it gets integrated again.

I'm now working on PowerMan and there are some issues with IPv6 which
I'm working with them on. They are saying that they can have the fixes
and new release ready by next week. At this type of turn around we
will never be current.

It seems to me that this is a bad model for Sun to be tightly
consolidating all these packages that we have no control over time
line, we can never keep current.
