You also have to edit the base passwd/group files, which as I said are in usr/src/cmd/Adm. You may have to update the class-action scripts for these as well, not sure. Maybe you should go see what these bugs did for postgres: 6504176 onnv tool "protocmp" doesn't know about postgres uid/gid 6438076 Add default uid/group for Postgres (which I thought I saw pointed out too on the alias but there's been so much Indiana mail to go through I may have hallucinated it) Mike
