Hi All,
I'm setting an SunRay/SGD environment. I would to have your points of
view or recommendations if you have already set up this kind of
environment.
Configuration is :
- SunRay server 4.0 running on a solaris 10 box
- SGD 4.40.907 running on the same solaris 10 box
- LDAP Server (Sun Directory Server)
The goal is to provide :
- a webtop session for users who would like to have windows and linux/
solaris session
- by default, only a windows session and obviously no webtop, we will
lauch directly the url with "mydesktop"
In the LDAP, we store for each users, under the "application"
attribute, a list of application i.e "Windows", "Linux", "Solaris",
etc...
The kiosk mode is configured with CDE and custom script is started
automatically when user plumb his smart card. The smart card is
assigned to a userid and smart card' tokenID is stored in the LDAP as
"SunRayTokenID" attribute.
During the plumb, a query is performed against LDAP and search
applications defined for the user. If only one application is found
(by default Windows), Firefox is launched - totally customized without
any buttons, etc... - with an url pointing to http://mysgdserver/sgd/mydesktop
, then the windows session is open.
If the user unplumb his smart card, the Firefox browser is killed,
because there is no possibility to lock the session with SGD, and the
windows session is suspended. When the user put back his smart card,
the same check is done for the application list, and firefox is re-
open. The user has to enter his password again and normally get back
his windows session.
My problems are the following :
- during the umplumb of the smart card, the firefox browser is killed,
but the windows session is not suspended !
- when the user re-plumb his card, a new browser is open but the
windows session cannot be take back, in the log I see that my cookie
is not valid. I would say it is normal as my browser has been killed.
I do not have this problem with a user who has more than one
application, applications are not suspended but when you login again,
you will find your webtop as you left it.
Does anybody has already setup this kind of environment ? It is normal
that my application is not suspended even if my browser is killed ? It
is possible to set a kind of lock instead to kill my browser ?
Thanks in advance !
Regards,
Ben
