Hello,

When I boot OpenBSD 5.1-current on my Octane IP30 machine
it fails to detect/allocate the memory above 1GB. I have
seen in the kernel source code that it should be able to
do this. One observation is that my system should be
recoginised as Octane2 (I have booted the latest IRIX on
this machine and that boot showed a correct id of an Octane2
in stead of Octane). I have no idea if this is relevant, but
it is the only anomaly I could easily detect.

When booting, the system correctly sees the memory (4 GB)
but OpenBSD reports only the first 1GB.

I would be more than happy to see how I can patch the OS
source code, but the documentation about the SGI hardware
is somewhat scarce.

If I can help in any way by supplying more information,
please let me know. It would be nice to have this system
running with more than 1GB of memory.

Many thanks in advance for any reply,

Best regards,

fvk
