I found the pptp (or at least Microsofts VPN technology) was *very* straight
forward with an out-of-the-box STN setup.

Now then. the scenario is thus... I have a WinNT workstation on the LAN in
my home. The LAN is connected to my ISP via a dial-up modem connection on
my STN boxes serial port.

I installed pptp to the WinNT box and can establish a VPN connection with
work's network easily. In fact, this was one of the bigger reasons I
switched to STN. I never really got the same setup to work with a Linux
2.0.29 box running ipfw and masquerading.

STN just ran, straight out of the box. If you want to watch it, roll the
STN disk with "debug" turned on and watch the monitor as the systems
negotiate the PPTP session...

I hope that helps...
