My personal favourite is the DLink series of cards.
I've had most luck in older ISA-based systems with the DLink DE220 series;
the Plug'N'Pray functionality of the card can be disabled and it can be
fixed at a particular IRQ and base address.
ShareTheNet simply sees it as an ISA-based NE2000 clone.
Failing that, my recommendation would be to check out the Linux
Ethernet-HOWTO document
(http://howto.tucows.com/LDP/HOWTO/Ethernet-HOWTO.html) and look at section
Two, where it discusses various cards supported by Linux. Since ShareTheNet
is in essence a miniature Linux distribution, the information should be
applicable to ShareTheNet.
I hope this helps!
