Ok... This is why you're having problem.
You have not set up the STN as the default gateway on your clients.
With the STN as DNS it will connect to resolve the DNS query but after that it will
timeout if there is no more requests.
With DCHP, the DCHP server of the STN will configure the clients with the proper
defualt gateway (the internal adress of the STN). With another DHCP server it will
work if you configure that DHCP server to give the clients the correct default gateway.
The STN does NOT need to be DNS and it does NOT need to be the DHCP server but the
clients needs to be correctly setup.
