Maurice;
I had gotten an external Diva ISDN modem to work just fine (although I had
to add PPP options on the modem tab, as the modem would dial but quickly
hang up - changing these settings allowed the connection to finalize). I
assume because it was plugged into a standard serial port and took standard
AT commands, it looked just like a "regular analog" modem to STN.
The problem might be that your internal modem doesn't use standard IRQ and
I/O base addresses and is not being seen by STN. If you have a DOS
configuration utility to set the modem up (or even under Windows), then use
that to set the modem to standard serial IRQ and I/O. Good idea to go into
your computer BIOS and disable com1 and com2, this way you can use IRQ4 and
I/O=3F8 for Com1 and IRQ3 and I/O=3E8 for Com2 for the ISDN modem. I would
suspect that this may help.
I know in previous messages (over the past year) internal ISDN was
discussed and I thought the internal modem might have been an issue to
some. But external seems to be easier to use.
Good Luck,
Arnie
