Just noticed an odd issue with STN... I am using the STN box as the DNS service on my internal network for ease of management. The other day we had a power failure and when everything came up people were complaining that they couldnt access internal services and were getting "not found" errors. I checked that the STN box was up - but I noticed that the modem wasnt (it had blown a fuse). It seems that STN needs the initial dialup to work in order for the DNS service to work !! Not a problem under normal operation but it could be a pain in the butt if the line is out of order after an STN restart as we wouldnt be able to work at all without major surgery to the network configuration. Is there a way around this ??
