You would need to POWER CYCLE the modem to release the current NIC it is
bonded with, then connect to the new NIC and power up the cable modem while
it is attached to the new nic.
Power Cycle Cable modem
1. Reset switch on back - hold reset switch for at least 6 seconds, all
lights would blink, then all hold steady, pull power plug, release reset
button, replug power cord into modem
2. No Reset switch on back - unplug power for 30 seconds
3. Neither option work - call cable co and have them re-push the modem, this
will break the NIC bond always

Subject: [ShareTheNet] change mac adres
i want to connect a 486 pc with stn and 2 nic's on a cablemodem but the
cablemodem is checking the mac adress of the nic. the problem is i can't
use the working nic because this is a pci and the 486 has only isa. is
it possible with share the net to "fake" the mac adress?
