I don't think you have to worry about there not being a variety for routing
'systems' available and surely not about MikroTik monopolizing the market!!!

I have looked at freesco before - and just checked their FAQ file. At the
moment it only offers static routing! Along with other features. It
supports three interfaces max. I do believe there are good programmers
working on this and similar projects but they do not have nearly as much
many features.
Please try the software before you make any comparisons!!! To make
comparisons when you have not tried our software is doing a dis-service to
the readers of the mailing list. I know you don't have allot of time to
test out everything but I think you will be pleased by the user interfaces
and capabilities of the Mikrotik router.
