I must say I have to agree.

I have installed STN in 4 separate locations for my customers. It was easy
to setup and it has worked great. But I have just recently switched my own
setup to FREESCO to take advantage of the features you have listed. Hard
drive install ease, LPD support, ability to function as an FTP server, and
excellent and growing knowledge base for support questions.

I'd love to stick with STN but it just can't do all the thing I need it to
do. At least not with my very limited knowledge of Linux.

Subject: [STN] STN - the future ???

I've been a devoted STN user for some time now - it's very easy to
setup and get working - but increasingly it has been lagging behind
other packages.

As an example "Freesco", while in many ways not quite as good as STN,
is relatively active (from a development point of view), extensible,
has LPD support and installs easily on a hard drive (something I have
_NEVER_ managed to get STN to do)

I for one am very keen to stay with STN but have some concerns about
its future development. Perhaps John could give us a preview of
highlights of the next version to whet our appetites ???
