Last issue - did you use "HTTP" to download the .gz file? On occasion I
have had problems downloading '.gz" files with a web ftp - it seems to
"automatically" decide that it is a "text" file and does an ASCII
download - which trashes it.
You may have to go to a "dos" screen, and do the FTP manually,
specifically selecting "bin" (binary) as the transfer type.
