John,

This is kind-of a hard call......

1. I did what you're doing for years, (actually, it was an
internationally networked Atari 8-bit BBS running Pro - but you get the
pix - long hours for eff-all return!) I know it is a drain - and you
get to the point where you want to say "screw it!" and toss in the
towel.

2. I am not "married" to a particular solution - and I have examined
all of them I found (there being five-or-six "STN clones" out there)
IMHO, STN has them beat cold with the ease-of-use part. If you were to
come up with a new version - my wallet would fly out of my pocket so
fast it would leave scorch marks!

3. On the other hand - I'd like to see STN go GNU license, (for one)
I'd like to see how you did a lot of the slick things you do. (for
another) I'd like to see it work with the more current kernel builds,
and accept a wider array of "module" (driver) files. This would be
especially neet if it were based off of a "standard" module
configuration (like the ".o" files that RH uses) - so knowing what the
"base" version of Linux it was from, you could compile drivers for
whatever you needed. This way, those who need the IPSec,or PPoE, etc.
stuff could add it in.

Additionally - (and perhaps more importantly) - it would take a GREAT
