Dear STN support person,

I was looking for a Linux/Unix based equivalent to Microsuck's Internet
Connection Sharing program, so I downloaded your excellent installation
package for evaluation and went through it, successfully creating a boot
disk. However I ran into problems and was unable to bring it up. My problems
were of two kinds:

1) STN refused to boot on any IBM ThinkPad laptop. It started loading,
displayed the logo, displayed two lines, then rebooted the computer. It then
went into an infinite loop repeating the above. Have you tested it on any
IBM PCs ? Any thoughts ?

2) I then tried it on a non-IBM PC and it went through the loading but
choked on the NICs. I had inserted two 3COM PCMCIA NICS (3c589C and 3c589D)
one for the Internet Cable Modem, another for the intranet. Both cards and
cables are tested and work fine, the LAN is fine, etc. I just don't know
what settings to select for them on your configuration utility, I guess. I
MUST retain the 3c589D since it appears that the ISP is using the MAC on
that card to allow me access. I can use another NIC for the other one if I
have to.

I would appreciate any help, as I need to get this thing going within the
next 10 days or so.
