For those looking for alternatives, may I suggest http://www.freesco.org/, or, if you like appliances, Multi-Tech (http://www.multitech.com/PRODUCTS/SOHO_VPN/) has a small box for about $180 that will do the same basic things as STN and will run VPN. You might also look at OpenBSD (http://www.openbsd.org/) which has some fairly heavy duty firewall stuff built in. The only problem, it's not a neat front end to build a single floppy disk solution like STN.
I would like to thank John for his years of work with STN. I have several of them now on line, some of which have been running flawlessly for three years. I will probably still have some running for some time, just because "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"!
