I first experienced and reported this problem back in July with 2.1.2 pre 1.
Since then I make it a practice to erase the target disk first. That always
works.

I had it fail on me here consistently after I had updated my boot
disk to reflect a change to the IRQ assigned to a network card.

I thought it was a very peculiar place to bomb out, and after verifying
that the hardware itself was not at fault, I began to suspect the boot
disk update had not gone properly. I deleted all of the files from the
boot disk and did another save from the configuration tool
and the problem went away.

I've been meaning to send in a bug report about this --
I guess I just have.
