Once in a while we receive a problem report like your's. It's something we
have not been able to track down until now, because the problem usually goes
away after people start analyzing.
All the information we have gathered so far suggests that it could be a bug
in the NT authentication mechanism. The problem usually occurs after the
user's password has been changed. It has been reported that Sharity can still
use the OLD PASSWORD while the new one does not work. It looks as if NT
would not update all instances of the password when you change it.
An other hint is the domain/workgroup, of course. Sometimes the server is
picky about the correct domain name. But you said you already tried that...
If you have not changed the password recently, please look at the server's
event log. It should give details about what it thinks why it refused the
login.
Regards, Christian.
