It can be if your chassis is a little tweaked or the K-frame isn't quite
centered (the holes are slotted slightly) or the control arm bushings
are worn a little.  Basically, as long as the axles are even and the car
doesn't do anything weird while driving it, I wouldn't worry about it
too much.

I didn't get any responses, so I'll try again.

I followed the directions of an SD member on engine centering.
That is by undoing the axle nut and pushing on the axle through the hub
till they seem to move the same amount on both sides of the car.

Doing so ends up putting my transmission mount right up against the
bracket as seen here:

Is this normal positioning?
