I'm going to respond about this topic on the list for this last time. Hopefully this will serve as information for those who may not have heard or maybe they've been out of the loop.

1. I do "own" the data associated with the Shelby Registry and the content is copyright by me. My message to the list was to stress that if you are interested in any information to be sure to ask first. It has been a significant undertaking to get the site as far as it has gone and I want to make sure any other site upholds the same strong principles. I consider this to be basic etiquette and I think everyone would agree.

2. I'm just as disappointed (if not more so) than those who have made comments about the site. I can't stand that it hasn't been updated in a long time. One thing that many of you may not know is that I've had at LEAST six people eagerly volunteer to help me rectify the situation. NONE of them ever came through with even a most basic program. So before we get wound around the spool, take a couple of minutes to understand my perspective.

3. Data integrity and privacy is a significant issue that many don't seem to appreciate. I take the privacy of everyone's data VERY seriously and from the feedback I've received, that seems to be the expectation of those who register.

4. I've had a few discussions with Barry Goodall about this project and the SDAC was kind enough to make a direct donation to the cause. I told him in advance that I have military commitments that must be honored before this project can commence and he understands the undertaking this is. I will be continuing to hone the statement for work for the project and hope to submit it in the next couple of weeks.

5. I take full responsibility for the lack of updates to the site. Unfortunately it grew much faster than I or anyone else had anticipated.

6. If you would prefer to "put your money where you mouth is", please consider a donation or, better yet, if you're a programmer who can complete a reality complex program and are willing to volunteer your services, please step forward so we can talk. I can provide you with the statement of work if you're so inclined.

7. If you have anything else to say, send me a private e-mail and we can discuss any ideas/options you have. We're now beating a dead horse and it's not providing value to the list.

Cheers.
