I did alot of research on another leather wheel restoration company that had an extensive resume of experience and was lower priced. To check out the quality of their work (because I was interested in using them as a vendor) I had them first do a 3 spoke Shelby Dakota wheel.
The craftsmanship seemed decent but they used the wrong grain of leather. I was also interested in having them redo the 1987-88 four spoke wheels (that were not originally covered in leather) so I sent one out. What I finally got back after way too many "we'll get it right out's" what finally arrived was a joke. They didn't put the seams where I requested and glued on leather patches around the spokes instead of wrapping it. I had them redo it but it still was still substandard when I finally got it back. There are few companies that are skilled enough to properly recover a steering wheel so I'd say American Stitches is the way to go.
