A great historical reference section can be found at the following site:

http://www.xmission.com/~dempsey

There were no Shelby manufactured or numbered Daytonas ever built. Only
the 86 GLH-S (Omni), 87 GLH-s (Charger), 87 CSX (Shadow), 87 Shelby
Lancer, 88 CSX-T (Shadow), 89 CSX-VNT (Shadow) 89 Shelby Dakota. The
rest are produced by Chrysler using Shelby's name.

Good luck,
Stefan

Subject: SD> Identify a real Shelby

Looking at getting a late 80s, early 90s Daytona Shelby. Is there some
way to tell if the Daytona is an actual Shelby, and was not just wearing
the decals?

Thanks!
