Drop the steering column, that's what i've done with all my cars, it's only 4 bolts, and 1 piece of plastic to take off!

Subject: SD> Rack & Pinnion replacement Question

Hello,

I am in the process of replacing the rack & pinion on my 89 Shelby Daytona. I have reached step 4 in the factory service manual - "removing crossmember". I
have removed all four bolts and have the K-frame supported by a jack.

The question I have is what is the easiest way to disconect the steering
column from the steering gear?

Thanks,
