I have an 89 daytona shelby TII/555, I just rebuilt. It ran great for about
an hour, then I tried starting it and saw smoke coming from the ground wire
that connects from the firewall to the intake manifold. It was almost burnt
in two. I disconnected it and tried starting it again. I saw sparks coming
from the other ground wire on the top passenger side motor mount. It was
glowing red. So I connected the firewall ground wire back to the intake
manifold and Everything looked fine. I guess its a matter of time before
that wire burns in two. Any thoughts on what is causing this? Could it be
a short on the starter, it only sparked and and glowed red when I was
starting the car. Once on, the car ran fine.
Thanks Larry
