Bill, I don't know if it will help or not, but we purchased an '88 CSX-T in May 
'89.  That was soon after Thrifty released them for public sale.  Ours had only 
6k miles on it's clock.  I believe it was all original.  I still have the 
original headlites on a shelf in the shop.  They are Wagner, 12.8v, HP6545, dot 
H8S, 65/45w, C8.  They are plastic!  I installed Hella's shortly after we got 
it home.  Hope this gives you a direction to go.
