Ugggrlll... IMHO it would be _much_ better to use the encoding-independent multibyte APIs instead of creating another unicode-centric monstrosity (otherwise ja_JP.PCK and zh_CN.GB18030 users will start throwing bricks at you... _large_ bricks...) ... ... but AFAIK /usr/xpg4/bin/more already handles that job properly.
