How would you "update" the installed ~/.profile , ~/.kshrc or ~/.bashrc
files ? Most sites don't even allow _any_ modifications of user data by
admins without explicit permission. This may be a tiny problem for
machines with 1-5 accounts where the users work in the same floor or
near your cube... but imagine the situation of you have ~~80000 accounts
(and guess why PSARC 2006/550 and PSARC 2006/586 added + populated
/etc/ksh.kshrc ...) ...
