Yes, GNU make, which behaves in a fashion totally unlike Sun make.
(Admittedly Sun make is in /usr/ccs/bin, not in /usr/gnu.)
I've already spent time addressing questions from the field on
OpenSolaris that stem precisely from this problem.

Yes, and no. Yes, the discussion properly seems part of 2010/067.
However, it *is* relevant to this case, since the main justification for
this case is to deal with the fall out from /usr/gnu, and they are
impacted by the tension between maintaining 100% fidelity to user
preference, and providing the best possible solution (in this case
mostly performance related) to the "typical" (i.e. default) end user.
