Subject: strong is not the wrestler

A’Hadiths
Guidance from The Prophet (saws)

Hadrat Abu Hurairah (r.a.) reported: ‘The Messenger of Allah (saws) said, "The
strong man is not one who wrestles another to the ground; but the strong man is
one who controls himself in a fit of rage.
Related by Al-Bukhari and Muslim.

Commentary:
Although an element of physical strength is required for one to wrestle another
to the ground; immense mental and spiritual strength is necessary for one to
control oneself when one finds oneself in a fit of rage or anger. In the Sight
and Scales of Allah, a strong man is not he who wrestles another to the ground,
but rather he who finds the ability to control his emotions and his actions
when he is angry.
