The World Islamic Network (WIN) is a registered Public Trust (under the Govt. of India), which was established in December 1991. The main objective is to impart true knowledge of Islam to the people around the world, promote the understanding of Islam in the light and teachings of Ahlul bayt (a.s.) and to remove the misconceptions about Islam among Muslims and Non-Muslims. So far, WIN has published 70 titles and these books are distributed FREE of cost around the globe. Till today we have distributed 5 lakh FREE books to Muslims as well as Non-Muslims. By the grace of Allah (s.w.t.) WIN has a membership of over 30,000 active members throughout the world. FREE books are mailed to the members with the condition that they email or write to us the feedback of what they have read. This entitles them to more books. Our other activitiesare (1) Islamic Classes for Ladies (2) Sale of DVD’s (3) Ladies Library & Reading Room (4) Coaching Classes for students of Std. IX, X and XII so that they can excel in academic field. WIN has an excellent DVD collection of lectures, majalis, tafseer of the Holy Quran, group discussions etc. These lectures were relayed for the past 8 years through different TV cable networks all over Mumbai and its Suburbs. These programmes beamed in over 2 million houses mostly during mornings between 7.00 am & 9.00 am for almost 8 years. In the year 2008 we started WIN TV (24x7) on cable network for Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Aurangabad, Nasik and some parts of Pune and other parts of Maharashtra. By the grace of Allah (s.w.t) we have at present approximate 5 million connections. After receiving a favorable response on this project of WIN TV in the city of Mumbai and parts of Maharashtra we were greatly motivated to start the process for a “SHIA ISLAMIC SATELLITE CHANNEL” for India and Asia. It should be a major concern for each and every one of us that although there are millions of Shias all over India, we still do not have our own Satellite network in Urdu and English, while other communities have at least one network to propagate their religion. In this age of information, technology and satellite network, which are full of vulgar programs, the moral standards of our youth is fast deteriorating. In this society, where media rules the thoughts of the people and Islam is presented as a religion of Terrorism, it becomes essential for us to have control over the media. If we do not take immediate steps to fight this dangerous trend, we will not only be failing in our duties towards our children but we will be answerable to Allah (s.w.t.) as well. So, we have come up with a Dream Project to launch the “First Shia Islamic Satellite Channel” (WIN TV) which will cover the true essence of Islam in the light of the teachings of Holy Ahlul Bayt (a.s.).Inshallah we plan to initiate this project and reach millions and billions of people across the globe. Since this is not an easy task, we appeal to all Federations, Organizations and all Momineens around the world to join hands in this noble cause. No doubt it is a big challenge, but we are sure by HIS Grace, will be able to overcome this challenge.
