As Salam-o-alaikum, 1st of Shawwal is the Eid-ul-fitr. This Eid is celebrated upon the completion of the holy month of Ramazan. I wish to pray that Allah(swt) grants great virtues and sawab to all momineen and mominaat for fasting, praying and reciting the Holy Quran during Ramazan. My heartfelt greetings go to all momineen and mominaat. On this Eid day, please do remember the sufferings of momineen all over the world who are being oppressed in one way or the other. Be simplistic in your celebrations and whoever can, please do share your sympathies and little moments of happiness with your suffering brothers and sisters. I request you to give special consideration to the suffering Pakistanis after the worst-ever floods of the country which is one of the greatest calamities to hit this world in recent times. Details about Fitrah and Aamal of Eid-ul-Fitr are available at: http://www.ziaraat.com/events/eidfitr/eidfitr.php Here I am giving a brief summary: ======================================================================= Important Aamal for the Night of Eid-ul-Fitr ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1. Take a bath to gain purification. 2. Recite Ziarat of Imam Hussain(a.s.) 3. Recite Namaz-e-Shab-e-Eid-ul-Fitr: This is a two Rakat Namaz as follows: - In the First Rakat, recite Sura-e-Fatiha followed by Sura-e-Tawheed 1000 times. If recitation of 1000 times is difficult, then recite 100 times. - In the second Rakat, recite Sura-e-Fatiha followed by Sura-e-Tawheed one time. - After finishing the Namaz, perform Sajda and recite ATUBU IL-ALLAH 100 times - Finally recite: YA ZAL MANNE WAL JUDE YA ZAL MANNE WAT TOULE YA MUSTAFA MUHAMMADIN SAL ALLAHU ALAIHE WA AALEHI SALLE ALA MUHAMMADIN WA AALEHI. Amir-ul-Momineen Imam Ali(a.s.) said that whoever performs this prayer his/her duas will be accepted by Allah(swt) and his/her sins would be forgiven even though they might be innumerable. FITRAH ~~~~~~ The Eid-ul-Fitr takes its name from the “Fitrah” which is an obligatory religious Tax (Zakat) to be paid by all financially sound people. Fitrah can be paid in terms of weight by giving 3.5 Kilos of staple food which could be Maize, Dates, Rice or Wheat. On the other hand, one can also pay an equivalent amount in cash to the deserving people. Fitra becomes obligatory upon sighting of the moon of Shawwal and is recommended to be paid before the prayer of Eid-al-Fitr. A detailed article on Fitrah is available on the site http://www.ziaraat.com and its link is available in the "Whats New" Section. WHAT TO DO ON EID DAY ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1. It is sunnat to take bath (ghusl) after dawn on Eid day. 2. It is also recommended to have breakfast with dates or some sweet before the prayer of Eid. 3. Recite Takbeer before the Namaz as follows: ALLAHU AKBARU ALLAHU AKBARU LA ILAHA IL ALLAHU WAL LAHU AKBARU ALLAHU AKBARU WA LILLAHIL HAMD ALLAHU AKBARU ALA MA HADANA WALLAHUSH SHUKRU ALA MA AULAANA NAMAZ EID-UL-FITR ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Prayer of Eid-ul-Fitr can be performed individually if one has missed the Jama'at. This prayer is Sunnat during the period of occultation of the Imam-e-Zamana(a.s.). The prayer can be prayed from sunrise until the time of descent of the Sun (zawal). If that timing is not observed strictly then this namaz is lost and cannot be prayed as a QAZA namaz.
