This position will work closely with customers, business and technical analysts, and team members to develop support the maintenance and enhancement of the legacy mainframe and client server system and migration of the existing application to new .NET applications. Knowledge of COBOL/CICS/DB2 is preferred, and experience with MQ, FTP, command scripting are pluses. Insurance industry IT experience is preferred. *Requirements: * *Responsibilities: * - Performing intermediate-level application design, implementation and maintenance activities, under minimal direction. - Consulting on policies, standards, procedures and guidelines necessary to effectively administer application development - Managing application vulnerabilities, including intruder detection and system auditing - Performing analysis and corrective programming to resolve application system problems - Maintaining proficiency in analytical and programming techniques and languages - Adapting to the use of new software and programming techniques as they are acquired or adopted by the division - Documenting and maintaining application requirements and technical specifications - Consulting with users to refine development projects as needed - Evaluating performance of systems and investigating alternatives for systems improvements - Performing special analysis or assignments as requested by management *Qualifications: * - 5+ years’ experience in developing, maintaining and supporting a large-scale client server application and OO systems - Experience or knowledge of mainframe systems using COBOL, MVS JCL, CICS, DB2 - Experience in application development using an IDE tool - Experience with XML/XSLT in web service development - WCF and MVC Frameworks - Ability to communicate complex technical issues in writing and verbally to a diverse audience - Ability to work well with end users of varying skill levels - Ability to multi-task and prioritize to balance workloads in a dynamic environment - Desire and aptitude to cross over into support of other technical functions within the division.
