Just a note of informing that we in most parts of Africa, n also those who have then migrated to the West, have always followed the date of the birth of our 4th imam a.s on the 5th of Shabaan. The book, Almanak too has this date. So just like shahadah date of our 2nd imam, where we commemorate on 7th safar, some shia commemorate on the 28th of safar. Since our goal is to get ma'arifa of our holy infallibles, learn something and implement, it doesn't make a difference and we can even celebrate on both dates ; the more majaalis, the more lessons, inshAllah.
