*Salamun Alaikum*


وَ بِالْإِسْنَادِ الْمُتَقَدِّمِ ذِكْرُهُ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ ع‏
فِي تَفْسِيرِ قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى‏ وَ لَكُمْ‏ فِي‏ الْقِصاصِ‏ حَياةٌ
الْآيَةَ- وَ لَكُمْ‏ يَا أُمَّةَ مُحَمَّدٍ فِي الْقِصاصِ حَياةٌ لِأَنَّ
مَنْ هَمَّ بِالْقَتْلِ فَعَرَفَ أَنَّهُ يُقْتَصُّ مِنْهُ فَكَفَّ لِذَلِكَ
عَنِ الْقَتْلِ كَانَ حَيَاةً لِلَّذِي هَمَّ بِقَتْلِهِ وَ حَيَاةً لِهَذَا
الجافي [الْجَانِي‏] الَّذِي أَرَادَ أَنْ يَقْتُلَ وَ حَيَاةً لِغَيْرِهِمَا
مِنَ النَّاسِ إِذَا عَلِمُوا أَنَّ الْقِصَاصَ وَاجِبٌ لَا يَجْسُرُونَ عَلَى
الْقَتْلِ مَخَافَةَ الْقِصَاصِ- يا أُولِي الْأَلْبابِ‏ أُوْلِي الْعُقُولِ‏
لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ‏ ثُمَّ قَالَ ع عِبَادَ اللَّهِ هَذَا قِصَاصُ
قَتْلِكُمْ لِمَنْ تَقْتُلُونَهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَ تُفْنُونَ رُوحَهُ أَ
فَلَا أُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِأَعْظَمَ مِنْ هَذَا الْقَتْلِ وَ مَا يُوحِيهِ اللَّهُ
عَلَى قَاتِلِهِ مِمَّا هُوَ أَعْظَمُ مِنْ هَذَا الْقِصَاصِ قَالُوا بَلَى
يَا ابْنَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ قَالَ أَعْظَمُ مِنْ هَذَا الْقَتْلِ أَنْ
يَقْتُلَهُ قَتْلًا لَا يُجْبَرُ وَ لَا يَحْيَا بَعْدَهُ أَبَداً قَالُوا مَا
هُوَ؟ قَالَ أَنْ يُضِلَّهُ عَنْ نُبُوَّةِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ عَنْ وَلَايَةِ
عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ وَ يَسْلُكَ بِهِ غَيْرَ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَ
يُغَيِّرَ بِهِ بِاتِّبَاعِ طَرِيقِ أَعْدَاءِ عَلِيٍّ وَ الْقَوْلِ
بِإِمَامَتِهِمْ وَ دَفْعِ عَلِيِّ عَنْ حَقِّهِ وَ جَحْدِ فَضْلِهِ وَ أَنْ
لَا يُبَالِيَ بِإِعْطَائِهِ وَاجِبَ تَعْظِيمِهِ فَهَذَا هُوَ الْقَتْلُ
الَّذِي هُوَ تَخْلِيدُ الْمَقْتُولِ فِي نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ خَالِداً مُخَلَّداً
أَبَداً فَجَزَاءُ هَذَا الْقَتْلِ مِثْلُ ذَلِكَ الْخُلُودِ فِي نَارِ
جَهَنَّم‏


Imam Zainul Abedeen (a.s.) was asked regarding the verse:


And there is life for you in (the law of) retaliation, O men of
understanding, that you may guard yourselves. (Surah Baqarah (2): 179)


Imam (a.s.) informed – O nation of Muhammad know that there is life for you
in retaliation. Whoever intends to kill should know that vengeance will be
taken. So he should desist. This is the life (referred to in the verse) for
the one who intends to kill. For him as well as the one he intended to
kill. When he understands that retaliation is a binding command he will not
dare to kill - O men of understanding, O possessors of intellect, that you
may guard yourselves.


Then he (a.s.) said – O servants, this is the retaliation of the killing
you have committed in this world and (through it) have destroyed the soul.
Should I not inform you about something that is more serious that this
killing that he commits and what Allah has revealed upon the killer from
what is higher than this retaliation (of worldly killing)?


They said: Yes, O son of Allah’s Prophet!


He (a.s.) said: (A crime) greater that this (worldly) killing that he
commits for which there is no compensation possible and after which he will
never be enlivened ever.


They said: What is it?


Imam (a.s.) informed – That he deviates (others) from the Prophethood of
Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) and from the Wilayat of Ali b. Abi Talib (a.s.) and
takes him on a path other than Allah’s Path and through it turns him into a
follower of Ali’s enemies and (a follower) of the words of their Imams and
repels Ali (a.s.) from his right and rejects his virtues and does not care
about the divine favours bestowed (on Ali (a.s.)) and the binding respect
(of his authority). Then this is the killing that becomes a cause for the
everlasting stay of the victim in the fire of hell forever permanently.
Then the punishment (of the killer) for this killing is the same
everlasting residence in the fire of hell (as the victim).
